Clustering, defined
ClusteringGrouping a set of similar objects into the same group. The goal is to segment observations into similar groups based on observed variables.
The deck names the commercial use directly: it is commonly used in marketing to divide customers or items into homogeneous groups, known as market segmentation.
It is unsupervised: only inputs exist, there is no output column, no feedback, and therefore no accuracy to report. Success is judged by whether the clusters mean something to the business.
