Wages follow productivity
The deck's opening claim, and it is the hinge of the whole chapter:
Wages in the two countries will adjust to reflect productivities.
So the United Kingdom, being less productive, will have lower wages. That is not a coincidence or an injustice, it is what the model requires.
The class's assumed figures: a United States wage of $6 per hour and a United Kingdom wage of £1 per hour.
