Paying to keep a door open
You pay ₹500 to hold a flat at ₹50 lakh for one month. If prices rise you buy it and you are ahead. If prices fall you walk away and lose only the ₹500.
That ₹500 buys a right, not a duty. The seller of the token has a duty and no right: if you come back, he must sell.
Every option in this chapter is that token. The whole subject is working out what the token is worth and who ends up ahead.
