What a project is
ProjectA unique, one-time operation designed to accomplish a specific set of objectives in a limited time frame.
The class's examples: constructing a building, the Olympic Games, a railway line between two towns, producing a movie, software development, product development, disaster relief.
Projects go through a series of stages, a life cycle. Contrast with routine repetitive work: taking class notes is routine, writing a term paper is a project; routine manufacture of a music player is routine, designing one is a project.
